| Greetings from Jakarta, Indonesia
I have actively participated in the development of Education Technology, General Education, and English language proficiency internationally since 1983. I now provide assistance through many free online websites, interactive forums, direct teaching, and also through consultancy support to international education projects.
One of my major concerns is the preparation of students for participation in the global community. From my experience teaching English language to students in both Australia and Indonesia, it appears that they experience considerable difficulty learning and mastering English language generally. Of particular concern is the low self-confidence they often exhibit when using English language, even amongst their peers, despite the fact that many of the students had been studying English for several years.
We need to work hard to build confidence through active learning methods in our public schools so the students get a good foundation and build their basic skills. In this global information era English language proficiency is the #1 issue and can greatly affect future study opportunities, employment options, and career development prospects.

I no longer work in the ordinary sense, mainly my time is consumed maintaining and writing information for my websites (from home). However, I am currently searching for any web-based opportunities that may be profitable. Ideas?
AussieLearn is primarily concerned with the general development of education in Indonesia and I operate a number of Indonesian education websites (approx 70 active education sites). I am always interested in assisting students with their studies both here in Indonesia and in Australia. Feel free to contact me anytime.
